If it's just the grip that you need removed, the original grips are glued in place and have to be cut off.

Default changing grips

A few things...and I'm not mechanical! There is a tiny little switch on the brake leaver side assembly that can be easily broken if you arent careful - cant remember how to avoid this other than putting a wedge in where the lever hinges.

Other than that its pretty simple once you've cut the originals off. You'll probably need some WD40 to remove the remnant glue as the new grips should be glue free.

I am a novice and I changed the grips a couple of times but I would suggest that you have someone with you to assist if you can, even if just to hold the assembly as you undo. Just follow the instructions that come with the new grips.

Final thing, make sure you 'loctite' the screws in place when you are done as they work lose otherwise - I had to get my dealer to replace mine that had gone awol.

Cheers

Im not mechanically minded at all but this is easy but tricky ...undo housing on throttle side , pull housing apart...(take a digital photo-graph just in case.
two cables under there with brass LOOSE nipples on , twist throttle one way , remove cable and nipple careful not to drop it..thtwist throttle other way and do the same ...basic stuff and you will figure it out but if you have fat stubby fingers you may be stuffed !

I used vice grip covered in cloth so as not to hurt the cable and used it to keep the throtle from closong so i could work with the cable. It was so easy and the left side i did not open the housing. i cut the grip aoround the housing and that kept the old grip water seal.

Just watch out for the brass ferrules as they fall off real easy and are a bitch to find on the ground. They are on the end of the throttle and idle cable. As someone else said have a few extra available in case you drop them. Makes it much easier...
