I've seen several recommendations to "throw away the crappy Torx screws" and replance them all with stainess steel Allen (hex) head screws.
Is there a compiled reference list somewhere that lists all the Torx screw sizes used on my FLSTN, or will I have to just do this one screw at a time? I've like to just get a whole set of replacements at once.
These forum sponsors may have what you're looking for. I recall there are some problems you can run into with stainless screws interacting with aluminum. I think it calls for using anti-seize with them.

Thats weird, I myself like the torx head screws way better than allen head. Jost go to sears and buy a good set of torx head bits and you'll have no problems at least I have'nt. I've actually had more problems out of allen headed screws. Go on Ebay they sell complete replacement screw and bolt sets for all bikes. Stainless and chrome I personally go with the stainless torx heads.

Thanks for the links. You're right about the potential problems with SS in AL. I understand that SS screws going into aluminum are sometimes cadmium plated to avoid galling and galvanic corrosion; however, cadmium plating isn't very visually attractive.
You should be thankful that Harleys are not like old Triumphs. They used Phillip heads on everything. I replaced all of them with socket head cap screws, so I could use Allen wrenches.
I don't have any complaints with the Torx.

I tried looking up the threads to get Allen bolts to replace the torx bolts. Does anyone know the torx size for the brackets connecting the footboards to the Fatboy Lo? I have tried a T-45 but it feels a bit loose.....just a bit. :-)
