so I picked up a deuce from my pops last week for a steal!! I hate it! I normally ride a evo rigid chop. I have some questions and maybe you can help.
The Deuce tank is to long! does a normal softtail tank mount the same?
how low can you lower that sucker? What makes it so different than other softails?
The tank mounts in the same way all the softail tanks mount, but the rear mount is further back. Lowering your bike to a max of about 2". Depending on your weight, if you ride 2 up, any further than that and you will bottom out a lot. What makes the Duce unique is the stretched tank and rear fender, other than that its a Softail. There are a lot of Duce specific parts though, and interchangeability between other softails is sometimes hard.
Don't forget all the chrome that came standard. My 2004 Deuce was over $17,000 before taxes and mod's. That is an expensive Harley considering it is a softy. My personal opinion: Well worth the money or money well spent.

If you got her for a steal I'd learn to like it IMHO. You might need to lower it though, I know this realy helped on a buds bike. And they do have a lot of chrome.
they were made from 00 to 07 the 07 came lowered 1 1/2 from the factory, with extended controls and the 96 cubes with 6 clogs, I have a 07 with V and H BR's and 204 cams. i bought it knew and have since thought about changing to a fat bob tank myself,, feels like a sporty when u ride it tank is to narrow. also good luck when looking for add on get used to (except FXSTD) Kurikayn or however its spelled makes a ton load of goodies for the deuce. I do get a lot of compliments on it but I still wish i had got the night train instead, oh well a lot of folks would love to have what you got for steal so enjoy bro.
