I've bought something at a local bike shop and tried a used bag off of ebay. I wasn't happy with either and didn't even mount them on the bike. I want something wide enough to look good on a softail front end, strong enough to hold a decent set of road tools, and I would prefer leather straps or some other mount -- not nylon straps. I thought I'd ask you guys before wasting more money.
Yeah, its too bad they do not make one for the other side.
Here is a used one. Be sure to get the mounting bracket and passenger foot peg extension. These come in a new kit. I had to drill some wholes in the back of the bag to lower it so it would clear my saddle bags and I cutoff the lower part of the bracket so it would clear the after market chrome piece located behind the bag. Also notice that the passenger foot peg is sideways now, not up and down. You may not need to do all these things with your bike...
