OK, I'm confused on the side mount license plate mounts for a Rocker.
Can ANYONE give me a straight answer on what works?
The swing arm is OVAL and NOT round. I have not seen any that are made for OVAL.
I was told the Kuryakyn # 3173 would work. I was actually in a trade deal with member
tomhummer. I ordered # 3173 and shipped to him without even looking at how the mounts were made. He was sending me his Heartland horizonal mouunt for passenger peg mount. He PM'ed saying it won't work.
I guess he is sending me back the Kuryakyn # 3173.
My question is, does anyone else besides Heartland make a side mount that bolts to passenger peg hole. I know, NO one makes one to fit the swing arm.
I used a cheap stainless steel side mount that I bolted to the belt guard. Found it on E-bay for about $ 30 and it works great. I believe JP Cycles sells them now as well part # 340-620 but you can find them on E-bay much cheaper than that. I then used Kuryakyn lic plate lamps - they look like bolts but have little LED's in the head - to light it. Really cleaned up the rear fender.
the one I received was for '90-'05 dyna and '86 and up xl models...came with two mounts both are rectangular in shape...don't see how that can secure very well around an oval shaped swingarm of the rocker
Drag Specialties has an interesting one that mounts in the passenger peg position and serves as a passenger peg or just allows you to have the License vertival or horizotal. The part number is 2030-0050, a bit pricey however.
