Default AME front end mods.

Can anyone tell me about the AME front end extended fork kits that they sell. Does it change the tracking? How does it affect the handling? I looked at the web site and there was a bike exactly like mine with the kit installed. I gotta admit it looked awsome. It got me thinkin about doing it but at $1600 a pop I want to know all I can about it before I contibute to the economic stimulus.

They are designed to keep the correct amount of trail. So at speed it should handle fine. Depending on how much rake and how long the forks are, handling at slow speed will feel a little different and making "U" turns may require backing up. One thing to keep in mind is they are designed to keep the corrct trail , If you extend the forks only long enough to keep the bike frame level. Adding longer tubes and raiseing the frame in the front will affect trail. As will to short a tube. Good luck......

Thanks for the response trike. I will keep that in mind. I want 18 degrees with 8 over tubes. the pictures that showed this had the frames level so I don't think that it will be a problem. Thanks again
