Default black standard 88

I found a 2002 carb softail standard for a good price does anyone know how envolved or about how much it would cost to get the engine powdercoated black or would it look good if you powdercoated the engine covers black any ides would be helpful (don't say chrome)

if you like the black, maybe you should hold out for a night train............i wasn't planning on buying mine for another 6 monthes at the time, but i found on 03 with only 5K on the clock for $12.9

needless to say i jumped on it

not sure how much powercoating will run, but just a thought

well this one is 11 with 5k but i got to thinking it would be pretty cool to powder coat all the coves satin/primer black that way you could get the black and silver effect it would be somthing different than what everyone else is doing

Hold out for what you really want or you won't be happy. I like the black motor to but in the end I could care less, just happy to ride. I bought my standard new in 01.

i saw a chopper that had the cam cover,trans,primary,& rocker boxes powdercoated black i think thats what im going to do thinks for all the advice

I bought the night train for the black engine & trans, i'm slowly adding the chrome. It's too bad they stopped making the softail custom, it had the black/chrome motor. Oh well, then I wouldn't have all the fun replacing everything.
