Tank Install?
I have an 09 Fatboy and am looking to change out the tank and fenders. I searched the forus with no luck. How difficult is it to change out the tank? If there is a thread out there that answers my question or tells you how to change out a tank please point me in the right direction.

First, its NOT all that difficult...Second, Go get a manual for your bike. it will show you step by step how to do anytthing on the bike. Its an invaluable tool, and one you MUST have if you are gonna do any wrenching. Its specific to your bike, by style AND Year.

I personally think the rear fender is harder to change than the tank. The wiring on the back of the speedometer is all plug in. You will have to pull one side of the crossover fuel line, its best to start with the tank on empty, less to drain. Then just a screw in the back and a through bolt in the front.

If you are changing to a new tank and need to swap the fuel pump it gets a little more difficult. You're supposed to use all new screws and washers and they cost a buck apiece or so, and big hands are a detriment. Taking the tank on and off is easy....swapping to a new one is a bit of a PITA.

rear fender was harder on mine with carb did need had a hard time with the fuelguage plug but that was it. it mostly commmon sense. if you got a tractor supply company store around you nut bolt and screws are pennies to the dozen ill never buy another bolt from hd
