Hi all,
I have a 2015 softail deluxe and bought the Harley engine guard
I read several posts saying it's very easy taking only a few minutes.
When read the instructions it talked about undoing and rerouting cables
so I stopped any advice
thanks
On my 13 deluxe there was no rerouting of anything. Just a warning to make sure the clutch cable worked ok after installation. Just loosely bolt it on and turn the bars back and forth to be sure all cables work properly and tighen them up. Easy peasy.
That's the first addition I do when I get a new bike and is easy as stated in the earlier posts. Towel on the fender is great advice. This addition saves in so many ways. Protects the tank if you tip it over(from experience), saves the levers; makes the bike easier to pick up if you do the above trick. Makes a good place to hang shields on those colder, wetter days and some pegs added makes a good relief spot for cramped legs.

Just got done installing one on my 16 Deluxe and the only thing the instructions mention is to make sure that the clutch cable clip is mounted outboard of the frame down tube and behind the engine guard. My only issue with the install is how tight the short line from the ABS module to the neck is. The instructions mention making sure the line is behind the engine guard and routed to the outside of the frame tube as well, but it's still tight.
