Never owned a 80" motor but I love my 95" FatBoy. Evo is a great motor but bikes are alot like boats, seams whatever motor you have, you'll always want a little bit more.

I have a 94 FXSTC with the Evo and I love it. I rode my Dads 05 Road King and it seemed too smooth. Though Road King is the bike I'd want on long trips, I love my Custom!

Had a 91 heritage for 14 years and love it!!!! Took it every where I now have a 08 rocker and I love it, as far as an Evo I wouldn’t hesitate to get a 90 and above. Stay away from 84 unless you have a lot of patience.

Evos are a good buy, I ride really hard and I have found that the 6th gear is not a big deal,

For the record I have had a HD since I was 18 and the 5the gear is a lot better than a 4 speed but I could live without 6th, stay 90 up and you will have less problems with leaks if you do get a leak “James gaskets work well on evos” my 91 never left me stranded

They changed the oil pump in 92 it is better.

I had an old 1988 Heritage Softail with an Evo....

It was a bit cold blooded in the morning and didnt have much giddy-up but it was a fun bike.

Sold it and stayed clean for years. Then I relasped....

Bought this 05' Night Train from a fellow member of this fine forum.

Its amazing how it starts right up on the coldest morning and runs perfectly.

Mine has a 95" big bore kit, Cams, exhuast, air cleaner and it is just downright fast compared to my old Evo.

Mine still vibrates, its noisey, and to me when I think Harley Davidson in my mind this is the bike i pictured...

So I bought it. Its a blast!

No regrets.

I go trail ride my KTM when I really want to get roughed up!
