I have heard that the swingarm is about a 1/4" off as well... I have not actually measured this... I do know however that in 07 the Screaming Eagle Fatboy was not affected... Meaning they put the correct parts on the Screaming Eagle... Just not on the Standard models... It is also offset on the Springer front ends as well... The front wheel is shifted over so it will track with the rear wheel... Since they shifted the front wheel over they shifted the front fender as well to make it cosmetically appealing (which it's not)... Although in the past there have been lots of different Harleys with offset wheels... It really does not affect much... As far as tire wear... Do you guys really think the left side weighs the same as the right side? Think about it... I'm just saying...

2007 flstf yeah, I have an offset in mine too. no big deal, because it is a heavy bike. My rear has 9700 and has at least 2000 more. My handlebars were never exactly straight, but I just figure that is the way it is with harley davidson. they need to make a piece of chrome available for the rear fender lip, these are my only paint chips. Bought the bike in 07, but also have a CBR RR, and other toys. My next will have rubber engine mounts, leather seat and spoked wheels. The fatboy is nice for local cruising. I have great roads in NJ, PA, NY, MD

Hello fatboy owners. I also have a 07 flstf. I bought it new in 07 and put about 500 miles on it and went overseas to work coming home occasionally and riding when I could. At about 1000 miles I noticed my handlebars were uneven. The lines were off. When I was riding straight I noticed my handlebars were cocked about 3 degrees to the right. Kinda messes with you mind while riding. I took it to Harley and the say they tighened and aligned my bars. Seems ok to me for a short while then I noticed the handlebars cocking to the right again. Im at 65oo miles now and noticed uneven tire wear on the right side of my front tire. Its almost bald and this is crazy to me considering the tire has just over 6000 miles on it. When I ride, the whole front end is offset to the right about 2 degrees. I took it to Harley again and the said I need new front end upper bushings and new bearings in the fork neck. They also told me that the bike was designed to have a 1 to 2 degree front end offset to properly balance the bike. This is so crazy, my bike crabs to ride straight. I've heard lots of people talk about the oddset front tire and I could live with this if that's all it was but my entire front end is offset and harley says it's supposed to be they way.
Anyone else experience this and is Harley FOS?
HELP HELP!!!

If your bike "crabs" to go straight, you have an alignment problem. My tires wear evenly and now that my neck bearings are adjusted, she goes straight as an arrow. I had an alignment problem when I first bought the bike. I had chrome rear axle covers installed and they adjusted the rear alignment by counting threads instead of measuring from the swingarm pivot to the axle.

I am also having the front tire wearing out problem I've had it to the dealers with no success but I just recently drained the fork oil and to my surprise the right for oillooked metallic like metal shavings in it so I'm assuming that may have something to do with it but I also have to lean to the right to go straightI'm going to have another person look at it and see if they can fix it if not I'm selling it

The fix is simple, replace the lower fork sliders with 08 versions, and replace the front wheel with an 08 version. It takes the same axel, and I cant remember if the spacers were the same or not because I bought an 08 chrome front end kit so it came with chrome spacers, and I don’t think I compared them to the old ones.

I have since traded in the bike on my street glide, so sorry no pics, but I can tell you the bike tracked better after the fix, and the tire wear issue went away.

Go ahead and convince yourselves that the tire problem is from the crown in the road if it makes you feel better, but I can tell you all first hand switching over to the 08 front end makes a huge improvement in tire wear and in the way the bike tracks.

As far as I know, I am the only member of this forum who has fixed this problem correctly, so please don’t bombard me with arguments until you have actually talked to someone else who has fixed the problem correctly and is unsatisfied.

If you have any questions, I am the resident expert on this topic, (I did all the research and work myself) and I will be happy to answer any you may have.
Hi I’m new to Harley’s and have a 2007 fb. I’ve accidentally found this wheel offset problem due to wheel rubbing on front fender. Looks like the previous owner changed the lower legs for later ones but left all the other 07 bits in place which makes the wheel touch the fender as lugs on legs not offset 🙄. My question is do you know if I can use a later front brake disc and later spacers to bring the wheel over to centralise it? I’ve tried to talk to local Harley dealer about part numbers for the discs but they ain’t got back to me today. Thanks

Please don't centralise the front wheel on a 2007 Fat Boy - if you do, then the front wheel will no longer align with the rear wheel, which will cause the bike to become dangerous.
If you want to stop the fender from rubbing on the front wheel, you can move the fender over to a position where it is directly above the front wheel, as it was when it left the factory.
However if it is crucial to you that the front wheel is centralised in the forks, then a 2007 Fat Boy is not the bike for you.
