Question Winter Project Apes on the Heritage - Quick Questions

Hey Guys - Looking for some of your knowledge here. I'm looking to put apes on my Heritage over winter.

I think I've decided on a 14" set as it fits me the best of the ones I've tried.

Ok so now that I have the rise figured out, what diameter will fit on my bike? is 1 inch stock?

Also Do you guys have any suggestions for where to get a cheap set of Apes and/or cables?

I'm just starting looking and want to get by as cheap as possible without sacrificing looks or quality.

How long will I need the cables to be?

Thanks in advance for the help

You might also look at Hill Country Cycles on ebay. They're out of Texas and several members including my son have used them. They offer the bars and cables as a set for about $300.

Thanks everyone for the help. I'll look into Hill Country on Ebay and see what I can find.

Is the diameter 1" on stock bars? I want to make sure the new set I purchase fit in the stock risers.

Thanks Mimo.

Still searching for the best deal. 14" is an odd size to find. I've searched around on Ebay. Still haven't found that 300$ package that your son had found Other Sheep.

I'm thinking about maybe checking out some Swap meets in spring to see if I can find a better deal.

I'd be completely happy with a used set of bars

Stock bars are 1" in diameter, but most of the 1.25" bars are reduced to 1" at the risers and control grips to allow you to use stock risers and grips. The 1.25" bars look fatter then the 1" stock bars.

Here’s the link to Hill Country Custom Cycles. I think the complete ape set is more like $500 bucks now.
