I've been hating the standard air cleaner cover on my 07 Heritage. When I've got the highway pegs out, my leg rides on the top of the cover..irritating
So I've been looking at getting one of the Ness/King/D&M breathers.
Has anyone installed one before? Just wondering if this actually sits out further or if with the bend the cone extends forward kind of out of the way.
Also I've seen the heavy breathers with rain socks...is this something I'd need for the spikes as well?
I have the D&M cone style on my 07 Heritage, works great, rain sock is an absolute must i carry always.
I cant put me feet up on the bars but I mounted em low so i can heel the flooboard and toe the pegs.
Definetly sticks out farther.
On the 06 heritage I use to have, I used the round nostalgic cover with the round k&N and really liked the nostalgic look!
i have mine facing up.....love the look of it and get lots of compliments. It definitely sticks out farther then the football shaped cover. but if you put yours spike up you get more room underneath as opposed to having the spike face forward.
Wow Alain, love that bike! How big a difference does it make with the spike upwards? And how difficult is it to mount upwards if mine crowds pointing forward?
Salty, do you have the engine guard as well? My pegs mount to one, and are pretty wide
My bike was delivered in 06' basically as you see here. A few things have changed, but not the intake
I did everything before delivery. I knew the Football not only had to go, but something less intrusive had to replace it.
I bought a Wimmer, and I love it.
Whatever intake you buy, make sure that it has top breathers, or something to vent the engine with fresh air.
