How Long Should Fork Seals Last?
While getting my air suspension put in at the dealer they noticed that my fork seals are busted. I just had put on new front billet HD sliders on there early last year. Over 5000 miles ago. My other mechanic put them in. Should I say something to him about them busting? Did they break to early? I am not willing to fork over money that I shouldnt have to. I would like some anwsers if yall could provide them for me. Thanks.

5,000 seems a little short on the seals........I would say something to him for sure.

If they leaked 5 miles after they were put in, I'd guess you could blame the installer. However, 5000 miles later it seems like a stretch to blame the wrench.....I agree 5k miles seems like a short life, but sometimes crap just happens.
FWIW, my seals are 9 years old and have 73k miles on them and don't leak. Heck, I even reused the old seals when I swapped on chrome sliders a couple of years after I got the bike.
