lowering 2005 softtail

Default lowering 2005 softtail

i just got the bolts to lower my softtail do i need any specail tools and how are they installed and it is a 2006 not 05

No special tools required. You will need to have some way of compressing the shock to disassemble it, and some way of getting the rear wheel off the ground and supported. The job is actually very easy. If you don't have access to an arbor press, you can make a jig with a couple of pieces of Threadzall and a couple of pieces of 1/4" flat steel stock. You only need to compress the shocks a little (3/8") to easily remove the retaining ring, but you need to have long enough pieces of Threadzall to allow for about a 3" spring release.

thanks ill just take my bike to my buddy house and use his arbor press

You could just take the shocks. If he has a vise total time for both shocks should be about 20 minutes.
