I checked to see if Carlini had any 12" Fly'in apes made for the stock risers in the blems, & they didn't, so since my x-mas money is limited, I'll have to go with the Buffalo bars.

Just an FYI...the Carlini bars that are stepped down to fit a stock riser look different than the ones that aren't. Not talking about the characteristic Gansta or Fly'n ape look but the bottom of the bars. The stepped look more like a Wild1 bar - wider at the bottom and more square at the bend as they start up. The the non-stepped are a bit narrower and have more of a flowing bend as the start up and have more of an overall "v" appearence. Naturally this meanns that the stepped are wider overall at the grips as well.

Thanks chromedome. I'm real glad that you told me that. The main reason I was considering the Fly'in apes was because of the narrow width. If the ones with the step down are wider, I'd be better off savin some bucks & just buying the Buffalos. I do like the looks of the Carlinis though.

No problem. When I got mine I went into their shop here in Cal. They had the stepped as blems but not the non-stepped. I had the blems in my hand and they just didn't look like the ones I had seen on other bikes. That's when they told me about the difference so I opted for the non-stepped and of course got pinched for their diamond risers as well.

Another thing to keep in mind is that Carlini seems to run taller than their specs. My 14" 1 1/4 fly'n apes are around 15 1/4 if I'm not mistaken. Don't know if that is th same issue with the non-stepped or the 1 1/2 inch.

I like the gangsta ages myself...but both style of bars rock.

You can't go wrong with either!
