also checked tank mount and entire steering area. nothing appears loose. checked front fender. good. the only area that appears to make the similar sound is the rotor/brake area. when i tap it, i hear that clanking sound. could it be anything there that is "normal"? i rode my buddys fxstc and it didnt make that sound. the only other idea i have is the bearings inside the frame and triple trees. are those known to be loose or missized or something? it started the day i left the dealership... thought it was normal at the time, but i havent heard it on other rides. ideas???

I have an 06 fatboy and I am noticing a metalic clanging sound as well. I originally thought it was the fork covers vibrating. The sound seems to be more to the left/front side of the bike. What do you guys think? I only notice the sound when I am increasing RPMs, (for example, getting ready to shift from 1st to 2nd gear). It doesn't happen when I hit bumps or anything so it leads me to believe it is related to the vibration from increased RPMs. Any ideas?
