Switch housing insides

Default Switch housing insides

Does anybody have a picture of how the inside of the switch housing? my brake light switch is staying engage because i dont think i put it back together right when i put chrome switch housings on my switches. any help would be greatly apreciated.

You didn't break the little round tit off the end of the plunger did you? The other problem is there is a bent brass flat spring that needs to go at the back of the switch to push it forward. Without this it will likely not shut off. Sorry, no picks.

I think rbabos has it down. Your going to need to disassembe it and recheck your work.
If you have a service manual it will show the parts breakdown and the assembly process so you can make sure you get back together right.

ok that spring is the problem. if fell out when i had it apart and was not sure how it went back in and just put it where it looked like it might go. that makes sense. thank you

The spring is the easy part. Just make sure the button is seate correctly and then the little brass "spring" slides in. Use a small screwdriver to push it into place.
