I feel your pain, winter sucks. By the time I ride again mine will look different. Lowered, grips, tailight, and I forget now what else I've done and still doing. Good luck with it and sounds like it will run for sure.
I'm with ya too. Done some engine work also. I went to 95", but went with SE 10.25 to 1 pistons, SE211 cams, SE adjustable push rods, heads were ported, larger intake valves, compression release, and SE bee hive springs. Throttle body was ported and installed a PC3 along with a SE heavy duty clutch spring. I finished putting her back together this past Wednesday and have put about 30 chilly miles on it. So bring on the warn wether.
I've done quite a bit to mine also so far this winter and still a couple more mods to do yet before riding weather hits..but yes does make for along winter
I think I start to hate winter more every year, part of it getting older, and no doubt it cutting into my riding time. I am lucky, though, especially this year it has been a mild one so far. I am in Texas so the cold only last a couple of days and then it is nice for a few. Just letting you know that I feel your pain.
I feel the same way. I bumped it up to 103, had the heads cnc ported, 54H cam, S.E. Camplate, S.E. adjustable pushrods and a S.E. clutch spring. I also installed Carlini pulled back bars and ran the wires internally. Can't wait for the winter to end. I did get to put about 30 miles on it 2 weeks ago, now there is snow on the ground with more coming tonight.
I feel your pain fellers. snowed here in jersey last night. it's freaking freezing this morning and there is salt/snow everywhere. I hate the winter !!!!!!!!!!! i haven't even seen my bike in the last three weeks
I remember the cold white stuff. I retired 10 yrs. ago at 44 and moved to Fort Lauderdale from Long Island. It's great, low 70's and this is about as cold as it gets. I use my car once a week to go shopping and ride my fatboy the rest of the time. As we say down here Y'all should try it some time.
JMHO here.
203 cams in a light weight Deuce?
Those are bagger cams that run out of steam around 3,200 RPM..
You might want to consider sticking with 9.4 to 1 flat tops and using the 204 cam instead.
Lots more mid range and they won't quit above 3,200 RPM without losing a thing at the bottom.
Drop a Baisley LMR-2 spring in the cam plate while you are in there. That will be the best $50.00 you'll ever spend.
The 204 cams are the same as the Andrews 37b, with a 4 degree advance, so you need to stay around 9.4 to 1.
I live near Buffalo, NY. It's been in the single digits all week with snow blowing constantly.
My bike sits at my dealer getting a new suspension, and like you, I can't wait to see how it looks and rides.
