I just bought Big City Thunder Monster baffles for my Big Radius exhausts on my Rocker, because I read in here that they make a lower, deeper and more powerful sound.
The problem is I can't get the Big Radius's baffles out in order to place new ones...
Does anybody got a clue..? Do I need some specific tool or what..?
I also saw in the instructions that I have to drill my exhaust in order to put the new baffles deeper than the old ones, and that I might loose some power in lower rpm's.
Does this worth it? Anybody has placed them already....?
I would like to hear some opinions about it....
I lost all of my power with the Thunder Monsters in my Big Radius. I didn't care for the sound either. I played with all kinds of positions, and the only position that came anywhere near close to the original baffles was 6" in.
Having said that, others have seen the complete opposite. It may be the Cam/heads that I'm running, but my results were disappointing to say the least.
To answer your question, I would spray WD-40 iside the pipes like you own the company. Mine fell right out.
Take lower heat sheilds off and undo the one bolt they got in each to remove the baffles, just grab them and twist n shake em around, they should come right out.
i bought the thunder monsters and put hem on my big radius that i have on my rocker and the bike sounds awesome and runs great.
as far as installing goes. the originals baffles should come right out of the pipes when you take the screw off, you might have to jiggle them a little but it shouldn't be that hard. you might have to drill a new whole (i forget what they recommend, i think it's at least six inches from the end of the pipe) and then just throw the new ones in.
i used a slide hammer to take mine out and they came out in seconds, however i found the sound to be too obnoxiously loud and lost power, i ended up putting on rinehart crossbacks and love the sound they produce since i thought the original big radius were too tinny. i was looking for a good harley rumble on my 07fxstc with a 103 motor and i acomplished it with the rineharts.
felt like i lost some mid range power. they are loud. my upper baffle was a BIATCH to get out.
here is what i did. put a 1" bolt back into threads from baffles on the inside. heated pipes up. sprayed with wd40. used a 1 1/2" box end wrench banged back and forth pulling. then attached vice grips to handle on box wrench at 90 degree angle and beat out with a mallet. it took me about 20 minutes once i got the set up. hope this helps.

From what I hear...I think I 'll let them seat on my garage for a while...I don't want to loose this great low-mid power and torque just for a louder sound which I am not sure I will definately like....I'll just place the spike air cleaner and the FuelPak for now and I 'll come back with impressions...
