Default Oil leak

On my new 09 Heritage, I have a small drip coming from the two oil return lines where they quick snap into the crankcase. Dealer said to drive it and get it hot and it would go away, as it hasn't had a chance to seat yet. I drove 50 or so, and it was wet. I cleaned it up, and today drove another 40, and it seemed dry except for one small drip on the fitting itself. Does this sound normal?

First new Harley, and probably being too picky, but it was alot of money!! Only other concern so far is license plate bracket is on crooked.

I am no expert but I believe my Rocker has similar oil lines and I havent had any problems from mine since the day I bought it (knock on wood) those fittings you are talking about, do they look like they have a peice of plastic that plugs into the crank case?? They shouldnt be leaking, I dont see how riding it to get it hot would help but like I said I am no expert, I know what you mean about the bike not being cheap, and I bet I am way more picky than you are. Just keep an eye on it and take it back if it keeps leaking, even a small or slight drip is unactceptable, good luck and keep us informed on the outcome.

You are exactly right, it does have those black plastic rings in the fittings. This is where the oil is dripping from. I will try and ride as soon as it gets above freezing, and see what happens next time. If it continues, it will have to go get new fittings.

i think you will find it is condensation from temperature change and it is doing when it is supposed to do.

No, they are not suppose to leak. They are o ring seals and if they leak now, they will leak forever. Slap the morron that told you they need to be seated in. Sometimes the fitting is bad and the whole assembly will need to be changed, not just the orings.
