Had a random oil leak and i believe it may have been coming from this hose, cleaned the area but now its not leaking anymore so im not sure if this is the problem or not.
just had all the fluids serviced back in january, have not ridden it yet just start it up every now and then. leaked out an oil spot about the size of a diner plate is this normal ? new to harleys this is my first one, but never noticed any leaks before the other day.

When you go to check the oil level make sure the bike is upright and the **** is resting on the threads when inserted into the transmission fill hole.
Hope that makes sense ...as you said your new to Harley...
Rob
Size of a dinner plate is fairly large. If its been sitting for a couple months and just puked out that much oil when you started it up, you can probably rule out leftover spill from the oil change. Sounds to me like an over-fill.
It happens... Buddy of mine had his bike at HD for fluids, there was a miss-communication between two techs. The guy finishing the bike and filling the fluids thought the trans was dry, and double filled it. Bike puked oil all over the parking lot out of that vent line.
