finally got my 07 heritage running last night and it sounds gay as hell ( not that theres anything wrong with that ). it has stock pipes that i can't modify till my safety is complete , and aftermarket pipes are not in the budget . what is best way to modify the sound after the safety is done .
Ebay it for now till you can drop some change. I Hated the stock sound..... It is gay If you knock the baffles out your gonna run into problems. You will lose back pressure and then it will run like crap.
i hear you. i bought my 90 fxstc 4 years ago and it came with vance&hines longshots, sounds great, but the guy also gave me a set of baffles, there about 12" long, so for the hell of it i put them in, what a diffrence, sounded sissy-pissy, took them right out. there must be some way you can remove the baffles, if not then check out ebay. you might find some one that has a good sounding set of pipes but decided to go with a different style.
I put some Rush Slipons on my fatboy until I had the change for new pipes. They sounded real good. nice low rumble without breaking the bank. Easy on and off too.
I have rush slip ons with the stock Harley heat shields and I liked the looks and sound so I stayed with it. they were under 250 delivered. I saw a set of entire exhaust with screaming eagles for 07 Fatboy at a pawn shop for 129
