I have the HD QD windshield and like it a lot. It's so convenient having it come off in a matter of seconds and the same with putting it on.
There of course is a bit of buffeting but only if the wind is hitting you a certain way. Other times it just goes right over you.
I would definitely recommend this shield for longer trips. Works well for the money you pay.
I've attached a few pictures. Sorry about the quality. The sun was right in my lens. And no, these were not take yesterday!! We are under 2 feet of snow and -20C. I wish though

Cheers,
Ryan

This is the same one I have and they work very well. They are a little over priced in my opinion but what isn't if it's got Harley wrote on it somewhere !!! lol

Frank, it looks like the one you're looking at only works with the inverted fork kit, unless I'm reading it wrong. I think the one that works for you is pn 57199-05.

Thanks for the heads up. I remember reading that, but I guess it just didn't regester in the old brain box.
Problem is that I like the look of the Sprt windshield 91820-85A, but its not a QD model and the one you pointed out has those metal bars in it that I'm not fond of.

Looking a little more closely at the specs I think I'm going to be stuck with the Super Sport model 57965-97A (no metal bars)with the seperate docking hardware 58350-96 to fit 41mm fork tubes.

Oveall its going to cost about the same no matter which way I go if I get one from Harley. A Windvest is a lot cheaper (about half the price) but trying to figure out which one fits what. Along with the negative comments by some have left me a little cold on them.

Anyone have any other brand suggestions besides HD and Windvest?

EDIT; Sorry my error, I was looking at the Memphis Shades web site when I noticed the prices were lower and their application guide was the one I found a bit confusing.

Check out ebay you can typically get one new in box for 1/2 price or a little more. Don't get in a hurry and you could save even more. I just sold a brand new 100th anniversary windshield (FXSTC, FXSTB) for $146.50 + $20 shipping the other day.

Thanks for all the help and pics, Ive seen a screen 58025-91b that I may opt for. Im just unsure if it will fit as ive moved the indicators on to the forks as per a nightrain. I may have to move the clamps below the bottom yoke

I like my Windvest. Looks nice and clean on the bike, easy to remove but not a quick detach design. I do get a little buffeting some days, it depends on which way the wind is blowing from. Most days I get none at all so i'm happy with mine.

I've got the 14'' Windvest and I rode all the way to FL from MD and it saved my ***. I love that thing. Granted it is not a quick detach it only takes me a few minutes to remove. It is high quality. You can adjust it to where you need it. I like it more than HD because it is not as bulky. I have the bar clamps now but I am gonna order the riser clamps to make it look real low profile. I got it off ebay for less than 200 bucks.

Greatful_Ed,
I like the way you set that page up, but I think I should warn you about something.

Its probably nothing but the motor company has a well deserved reputation for air dropping lawyers on people who put technical paperwork on line or on CD's.

The odds are that they will never find out about it and even if they do its not like you did it with the service manual. Cause I KNOW their lawyers would be all over you in no time for doing that.
