I love mine. Never had any problems with the clamps, but I've heard of others who have. My guess is they were overtightened or misaligned when they were pressed closed.
I rarely ride with the screen installed (long highway trips, threatening weather, extreme cold). I really like the clean look when the screen is removed.
Wife has one on her Streetbob and I use one on my RK Custom occasionally, and have had no problems other than the the little rubber cushions on the wife's rig have atendency to go missing and have to be replaced. My RK is the adjustable style that mounts differently that the Dyna's and I've had no problems with the cam mechanisms.
I am happy with mine. I broke one clamp the first time I installed. The dealer replaced it. No other problems. Just use it in the winter or long highway trips.
I've got the new quick-detachable touring shield, and it works great. I use it when it's colder outside or on the highway. It works well at high speeds; it's very stable.
