I know that thes type threads come up all the time, but I'm not ready to get a new wheel. I just want a little more beef on my stock. Can anyone tell me if you can put a 160 on the stock 16x3.5 wheel?

I can't say for sure if you can or not.
But if you go to the Metzler web site they have a chart there that has what they call their stage 1 tire upgrade.
What they call a stage 1 is the largest size tire that can be put on to the stock rims and still fit the bike without ANY kind of modifications.
