Question Mounting a new front fender

I have a 95 softtail custom. I have a new front fender to put on it. I taped an extension cord on top of the front wheel to get it where I want it. But my problem is how to mark where to drill the holes to mount it. Any ideas on this.

When mounting acsessory items in auto body such as spoilers, visers etc..Tape as a templett is your best friend.Use some 2 inch tape to cover the flat mounting area where you know the holes will be drilled.Place the fender on the scoot where you like it and trace the outline of the fork mounting nipples onto the tape with a pencil. With a second stencil place tape directly on the fork nipples and trace the outline and hole locations, remove and trim.Place the second temp. onto the trace on the fender temp and drill.
