what year did the 1584 start
im buying a 06 fxst 1584cc i just want to know what year did the 96cube start.does the engine no: tell you.it starts with 5hd does this mean it is a 05 model. what is the best way to tell

Unless I'm badly mistaken I was under the impression that they started with the 96" engines in 07 not 06.
If you can get the serial number off the bike try to plug it in here and see what it can tell you about the bike.
