Okay, so I'm probably going to cross off my wish list retrofiting with a spring solo seat. Can;t justify the $$$ right now. Plus, alot of conversion $$$ if I end up not liking the mod. But definitely on the fence about it.
So, for those who made a saddle mod:
- If you changed out your seat with either a Springer seat, FatBoy seat or
Heritage style seat - Satisfied with the change ?
OR
- Should have just had the seat reworked by either local shop or by guys like MeanCityCycles.
I gotta do something before riding season... MY SEAT IS A PAIN IN MY AZZZZZZ....
I made the change to the Heritage Springer seat. I liked the look and the seat rail works better on that seat without any spacer adjustment. The stock Deluxe seat is just too bucketed in the back which one makes you sit a little further up and caused me alot of butt pain. The HS seat has been perfect for me and I have the matching ssaddlebags as well.
There's been a ton of these threads and a ton of opinions. I imagine reworking the seat is cost affected as well.
What I did was shave the seat down myself. I saw a custom Deluxe with a custom seat that kept the grab rail. It looked as if they took a good amount out and it looked much better. I was going to go with a C&C, but I think that I will just take mine to a local shop and have them re-work the entire seat to what I want done.
