Ever consider buying a Harley rim and aftermarket stainless steel spokes and lacing them up yourself? Or maybe a bicycle shop will take on the job, they lace wheels all the time and are good at it. Most of the time at a dealership it is cheaper to replace rather than fix, so it is rare when an HD mechanic has to true a wheel. Practice makes perfect.

Actually I considered that. I could keep my hub and just get the wider rim and spokes. I know Drag sells everything needed.

Black Bike wheels (blackbikewheels.com) does great spoke wheels. They did mine using the stock hubs and re-lacing them with new rims and stainless spokes. Definitely use stainless spokes.
