So I just installed my V/H propipe on my 07 nighttrain, new o2 sensors and all. I still have an irregular idle; it doesn't seem to go away until the bike has had a lot of time to warm up, around 300 degrees f (external head temperature). I have been monitoring this on my laptop/twin scan II. Could I have a bad temperature sensor, or is there something else that could adversely affect the idle? I also have a load equalizer that I have not installed yet, could that be it? Any assistance would be of great help.

 

have you rode the bike to warm it up?
or just let it idle to warm up?

 

you should read this months tech write up from American Iron magazine. Read starting on page 50...the article continues at the back of the mag and you problem is kinda of hinted at on page 192.....i would bet during warm up you twist your throttle up beyond 1200rpm and send the engine into closed-loop efi mode....the engine gets very hot and stutters durring idle after you do this.....

the best thing you can do is simply start your engine up and keep your hands off the throttle until warm...watch your engine without touching the controls and see if you have the same issues you mentioned

 

could be some bad octane too,smeg stuck in filter
