Default side mount license plate

ok i recently ordered a leatherworks swingarm bag, and now i want to relocate the plate to the side on my 09 xbones..

#1 - any recommendations on which side mount plate kit to buy that will still allow the clearance for the swingarm bag?

#2 - is the stock license plate holder removable? i admit i havent inspected it closely, but it looks like it is attached to the taillight assembly. does it have to be cut off? i store my bike during the winter at a family garage, or i would just go out and look closer..

thanks for your info guys

I don't know which kit you should get, but you can usually mount them on the axle of you want. Mounting the plate off the axle will allow room for the bag as well.

Are you in need of a tail light also or just a plate mount?

Axle mount for the 08-09 Softails. It is intended to be a vertical mount however I drilled the holes to make it a horizontal mount. It does have a plate light. I'm not sure if it is available with a tail light though.

Heartland makes a nice passenger peg mount plate holder. It looks good. For me I try to send these bikes out "Close" to being legal. So I mount the plates horizontal and behind the axle. Different states = different requirements.
