Seems like this might well be a HD scam to sell more stuff. Does anyone here re-use the gaskets for the clutch inspection cover and the primary chain inspection cover? I am guessing that many do use the same ones without subsequent problems. Thanks.
Never have replaced either gasket yet. I just reuse. If it starts to leak I'll replace it then. Even have the new gaskets sitting right here in my toolbox.
Same as above, I alway reuse my primary gasket and o-rings when changing oil unless I see damage to one. So far I have had good luck and no leaks. Remember its your bike and do what makes you feel warm and fuzzy!!!!

+1...I do that stuff myself, so I keep a change of gaskets and o rings to use if needed...so far, haven't had to...
I re-use the gaskets, but repalce the o-rings. Easy to repalce the gaskets if they leak. PITA to do the o-rings and drain the fluids if bad. But I agree, HD is trying to sell parts.
