Guys, I have already received my MB's Daisy cutters....so my pipes are takin care of!
my problem is now....is that I have about 3500 dollars to get the heartland EZ Rocker kit. I know this will get me the kit ....I think.....but will it get my fender painted and all that crap...plus i will need to lower the bike....so what I need to know is....what am I looking at to get this kit lowered and fully installed???? I know prices will vary....i am just looking for a ball park figure......Thanks in advance guys!!!!
yean man really depends. HD cost $90 and only for a 1'' or so drop, where other kits are cheaper and can lower you even more. now if you want to hd to install the lowering kit on the bike expect $100+ not including the lowering kit. 3500 though should get you done for sure, pending on what type of paint your getting done.
I dont know how mechanical you are , but after getting a quote from my dealer to do my lowering kid install I went and bought a motorcycle jack and did the job my self with all progressive parts for under 550 dollars and couldnt be more pleased ...the dealer wanted 700 with parts ... I saved money and now have a lift to do more stuff to my ride
just a suggestion- i was going to do the heartland, then I brought my bike to the shop to discuss. 3500, install, possible new rear wheel....
instaed, had them just put on a new fender. i also did a tank stretch, a new rear wheel w/ spokes and powder coat, bars, seat, and a few other things...but point is, for a new fender w/ paint and install your at about $1800, custom made seat- $1000, rear spoke 18 inch wheel $400, tire $200....and still $ saved.
plus you can get pretty creative with seat and for a few bucks more add a cool LED brake light or paint. (i am having a trucker mud flap girl cut in LEDs as brake light)
My buddy has a lift and a shock compressor, so I think I will do the lowering my self. So that leaves me the Heartland kit and the paint....I will also need the side mount plate I believe....so any of you guys that have done this could shoot out some figures would be great!
carefull when buy side mount plates ... on top of making sure your legal (florida has a F!@# law about plate mounting ) make sure it fits and ask a million questions ... I bought a side mount plate for my 06 fxsti and was told it fit years 89 to 09 ....long story short I had to get a new axle ... as for the rear fender I think CLEANIMAGES is right ... just buy a fender and make it work ... the heartland kits are so damn expensive your going to blow most of your budget on the kit and paint ..
yes, i know....but the point of the heartland kit is not just the fender....but the seat being lowered to the fender so to get rid of that ugly *** gap between the two. So i am getting the Kit. Just wanted to make sure i can afford it all on my budget. I will be lowering the bike and mounting the hardware myself....soooo i'm thinking i can squeak by!???
