Installed the J & M CB2003 on 3 Softails
When we want to let the other know about something while riding we can now talk back and forth just like the Ultra Classics.
Our friend who just bought a new 09 Softail Custom came over and we installed one on his bike too.
They come with an MP3 adapter to plug in an MP3 player. My wife puts her MP3 player in her jacket pocket and listens to music while riding. The music mutes when someone talks on the CB. They also have a weather band so you can listen to the National weather station in your area and across the country.
They were a fairly easy install except that the instructions are mainly General since they will fit so many bikes. The hard part is trying to wire the bike so all the wires are hidden and not interfering with any moving parts or getting smashed under the seat. We got the license plate antenna mount so it is out of the way and looks good.
Here is the best price I found on them and more info if your interested.

Wife mounted her MP3 to the bars so she could see it, and change radio stations on it (built in FM on the MP3) she loves it.
But wish J&M had made it a bit more attractive. It looks look a mattel toy sitting on the handlebars. Gray and black plastic.
Here a link to J&M for a picture:

I am not the best photographer and resizing the pictures made them worse.
But what the heck.
These show the units on the handlebars and the cables run down the handle bars through the hole in the top triple tree and down under the tank. Looks like it was designed to go there.
The antenna on the Custom was a different story. I put a tie strap on the inside fender between the backing plate and fender to hold the cables up above the tire and through the hole in the front of the rear fender and up under the seat. There is not enough room to do a better fix except to remove the tire or fender. This does the job and no one sees it and it does not rub the tire.
The Deluxe had to go to the chrome rack and underneath the passenger seat and then to one side of the riders seat because of the flat bracket that holds the seat down, you don't want to smash the cable, and it tucks right under the seat so you don't see it.
All in all a pretty neat install. Under the seat is where the two connections are made for power and ground. I tapped into the accessory Orange/White wire like the manual shows forward of the connector plug in case the rear wiring had to come off down the road.
Anyway here is some pics.
