baffle question.
When I changed the baffles on my BSS's, I backed the allen screw that holds the baffle nearly all the way out. Than I gave the screw a little tap with a hammer. If the baffle was stuck, I thought it might jar it a little. The baffle slid out as easy as could be.
Changed my v&h big shots to a quit baffle after 20k miles lots of build up in pipe, lubed with wd40 and they slide right in. It blew a little smoke but cleared out the bike sounds so much better very deep wish I had done it sooner.
+1 on the quiet baffles. They really do make a nice difference.
You will need to drill a hole for the new baffles, the instructions said if I reemeber right six inches from edge of pipe with shield removed... You will need to play with the current baffles to get them out.. GL
i had the br on my 07 softail and i didnt like the tone of it either, they were loud but not deep enough, i tried big city thunder baffles and the sound was obnoxiously loud, i ended up putting on rineharts crossback and i like the sound and looks better, it seems like everybody has the big radius, as far as pulling out the baffles just use pull hammer and it works fine.
removing baffles 101
warm up the bike and then try to pull the baffles with a hooked object like a garden stake. I used a 3ft steel stake when mine were stuck and it worked fine. The first time i went thru hell removing the mufflers cold and trying to force out. ---->

Can you expand on whether you went from no baffle or metal baffle to quiet baffle, and if you think the sound is much quieter or just lower tone?
Thanks in advance!
