Default Finally sat on one

Well I got back from my deployment last week, so I decided to go to the local dealership and sit on a Heritage. I have fallen in love with them just by seeing pictures and hear people talk about them. I have the bank working for me now to see what they can do to grab the one I sat on...'09 Heritage Sunglo Red...god she is B E A UTIFUL!!! I am kind of intimidated by the size (currently ride a 700cc Honda Shadow), but I'm sure that after a few rides and getting comfortable with the new seating position and position of the floorboards I'll be just fine. Wish me luck with the bank and hopefully by the end of the weekend I'll have my new steed in the garage.

P.S. They wouldn't budge on the price but they are throwing in a $1000 Harley gift card and $100 off of my first service.

I'm in aircraft maintenance (C-130) so I spent 6 months in the country of Qatar where we support a lot the guys/gals on the ground in Iraq and Afghanistan.

welcome back and thanks

shop around, there are a lot of dealers hurting out there at the moment and they will budge....remember you are the one that has the money and they are the ones that need the money.

shop around...if you find a better offer at another stealer you can always go back to your prefered one (prob cause of location) and see if they will not match the better offer.

Gift card is good. they can do better than $100 off the first service, and they can def do better than that on the msrp!

Also see if you can get them to waive the "Road Ready Charge" of $1000. that is bull that charge...ok there are taxezs and such in there but all they are doing is charging you an arm and leg for the oil and quick check they do, so work on them about that too.

and remember, be nice and firm, they need you more than you need the,.

P.S. don't worry about the size and weight of the softail...they have great low point of gravity and handle easy, I would not be surprised if you find that it handles as nimble if not more than your shadow

Went from a 750 Shadow to my Softail without any problems. Your going to love your new bike. Wish I would've bought mine sooner. The ride is like night and day. The Softail is alot more comfortable and smoother. Plus you'll notice better quality in the paint, chrome, and that fact that there's hardly any plastic parts right away. Not trying to bag on other brands, but I couldn't believe just how much plastic was on my Shadow. Seemed like everything but the tank and motor was plastic!

Enjoy your ride! I know I am.
