Any recommendations on replacement rear shocks for a 2001 Heritage? I DO NOT want to lower the bike and I do not want pneumatic shocks. I would like a good replacment spring style shock. Thanks for your advice.
...Go with Progressives...they are top quality "coil over" shocks that are fully adjustable for ride height and dampening (stiffness)....you can leave them at the stock height setting and you'll always be able to lower/stiffen the ride if you feel the need later on...
Is there something wrong with yours? Unless you are over loading your stock ones, I do not see a reason to replace what you have???

Are you just wanting to replace or actually improve the ride? I have run both Progressive and currently running some custom(heavier spring) Ohlins. Both are improvements over stock but the Ohlins walk all over the progressive I can also make adjustments without tools when going 2up or loading the saddlebags

Buddha4 Since you have had these Ohlins for quite a while (I think you were just plain Buddha than) would you please consider doing a write up on these Ohlins shocks as no one in the Softail section ever writes on how to improve their suspension that I know about. I am sure it would be a benefit to all who own this type of bike to read about your actual experience with different shocks. Someone who has done it V/S someone who has only limited experience with the shocks they bought or read about.
The Ohlins are appealing but too expensive at $1500 per pair for my wallet. Were the Progressive shocks the 422? Did you ever ride heavily loaded with them? Have a set of AirTail and am very unhappy, primarily when fully loaded.
Yup...I'm running the Progressive 422's...I weigh 220 and I ride solo 99% of the time...I have them lowered 2" and I never rub...I raised them 1" when I packed out for Sturgis...just to be sure...and I never rubbed...I like the ride they give and the price really wasn't THAT bad...
