WTF?! Just called harley to get a price on changing them and they said a couple of hours of labor! I had my road king's bushings changed last season and it was only one hour of labor. If anything, wouldn't these "easier to get to risers and bushings" be less work?

Easy install to do yourself. Just take bars off risers, undo bottom bolts pry out old bushings, put new ones in put bars back on, torque to spec. Took me 10 min to do mine (fxstc) and my buds (FLHP) together. Definetly not a 1 hr job let alone 2 hrs. And yes it is easier to do a softail then a road king just because the road king you have to take off the riser cover and move the wheel right to do left and viceversa.

Remove #1 from both sides, this will let you remove your handlebars from the risers. Next remove the bottom bolts #2 this will allow you to take the risers off the triple trees. Once you get that done you need to pry (with a flat head screwdriver with something soft around it so you dont scratch the trees) the rubber mounts out. There will be a chrome or alluminum cap on the top and bottom covering the rubber bushings. Pull out the upper and lower rubber bushings and you will notice there is a hollow tube keep this tube and install the new ones on it then follow instructioons backwards and you should be good.

here is a pic of aftermarket bushings.

On a springer you must remove the bars, make sure to cover the tank!, and there is a nylon/lock nut inside the body of the riser. Remove this nut and twist/lift the outer shell of the riser off the stud that will remain attached at the tree. the two star shaped bushings can be removed and replaced with the flavor of your choice. It is relatively simple, and once you have taken one apart you will understand the level of unintended rear-end penetration the stealer would have dealt you...

reading> me. I apologize I didnt realize it was a springer. You are going to need something different. like these.

Once you get the new parts it will be easy for you to figure out where they go.
