Yea, cleaning the front wheel really sucks!! I use a small sponge, a can of Dupont 7 chrome polish, and 5 or 6 beers. It just takes time, also I put in Lyndall dustless brake pads, makes a big diff without the corrosive dust. Good luck.
If your talking about cleaning the spokes I use a long (I thinks it's a 54") shoe lace. Put a little soap on, wrap it around spoke, pull it back and forth. Baby bottle brush for in between the spokes. 8 beers helps too.

Shoe lace....thats a damn good idea! Im gonna try that one. Oh yeah already had about 8 beers.
Wet it down and spray it with Shout! laundry stain remover. Rinse it off thoroughly. If you wanna be really **** get a shoelace or microfiber and put some spray cleaner (Hondaline, Pledge,Purple Slice whatever) or metal polish on it and clean thoroughly. Since I have fat spokes it's a little easier, but still a PITA.
Do not attempt to clean all spokes when you are in a rush. This is a time consuming task.
I did this routine last weekend using a lightly abrasive non-scratching
flat-scour-rag (kitchen section of your supermkt), a medium-bristle toothbrush, mothers chrome cleaner (awesome stuff), 3 beers and a
1/3 bottle of Heaven Hill Bourbon Black ... looked so good at the time ...
this weekend I'll give it another go ... just without out the HHBB
