Default Black intake air filter
Wimmer makes a 90 degree intake (like the SE heavy breather or Forcewinder) that comes with a black filter.

Does anyone know where you can buy black filters for the SE Heavy Breather or Forcewinder?

Does anyone run the Wimmer model? The Wimmer model is about $150 more than the SE model? What makes it better or is it?

You do realize it's made of a material the will take dye, cotton , I think. You can make it any colour you choose, but the k&n oil will still be red. May not show up much with a black dyed element though. Clothing or craft stores may have the dyes.

It's just the oil that is used on it that's red. If you rinse it with soap and water it will be whitish.

True, but with black dye after cleaning to white it will be blackish from that point on even after cleaning.

I've had K&N on my trucks before. It never occured to me to die the filter element. I think I'll try that. What the heck, if it turns out terrible I can always get another.

Just put the se one on, withim a 1000 miles it will be black.

If you do end up dying it black let me know how it turns out. Im putting my black SE HB on as soon as my power commander gets here. Hopfully tomorrow and I have been looking for a black filter also.

I just bought a Wimmer and powdercoated the whole thing black, breathers and all, it looks bitchin..I posted some pics in my album.

if you let it get dirty enough it will turn black. Mine did. I think you can mix of some black die and that should do it. you will need to get some clear oil for it
