I got my new '09 Heritage home today. Man what a complete 180 from the Honda I was riding before, for the size and look of her she is actually pretty nible and ohhhh what a comfy ride. I want to get the floorboard extenders, move the shift levers down just a tooth or two and look into possibly a taller windshield. The stock windshield works pretty good but at highway speeds I get some good buffeting that shakes my head around pretty good so hopefully a taller windshield will take care of that. The only thing that sucks is that the weather is supposed to be crappy for the next 5 days. I'll post some pics of my Sunglo Red beauty when there is some good sun out. I'm still smiling....
Big COngrats on that heritage, you will love it more each day! I am on my second one now. On both I installed the chrome lower wind defelectors. This took away the buffetting right away.
its not so much the height of the shield...the wind is coming from UNDER the shiled and then up the front of the fuel tank to your head. to check and see if this is true..get out on the hiway up to cruising speed, take your left arm and lay it horizontal across the centre of your chest, palm facing down....make a difference? You bet because your blocking the up flow of air.
Check it out and save the $$ from a new shield, these deflectors are inexpensive!
Cheers and enjoy!
Congrats....Welcome to Harley! I never rode a Honda before and am curious...What's so different about the Honda other than it's not a Harley....I mean in ride quality, etc.
