I got her home!!!!!
Man what a complete 180 from the Honda I was riding before, for the size and look of her she is actually pretty nible and ohhhh what a comfy ride. I want to get the floorboard extenders, move the shift levers down just a tooth or two and look into possibly a taller windshield. The stock windshield works pretty good but at highway speeds I get some good buffeting that shakes my head around pretty good so hopefully a taller windshield will take care of that. The only thing that sucks is that the weather is supposed to be crappy for the next 5 days.
I'll post some pics of my Sunglo Red beauty when there is some good sun out. I'm still smiling...
.Almost funny thing is I have just cut almost 3 in off my windshield to help the buffeting, I measured the new 09's and cut mine to that height...
The only time the stock shield bothered me was when I was riding with my helmet on (beat my head side to side).. other than that didn't even notice it.
I have read all that I could find on buffeting and the air movement from and around our shield, as other have stated most of the problems come from below the shield not the top. I have read most have better luck with the lower shields that mount to the top of forks right below the windshield for wind buffering.
I also cut mine to help the issue of not having to look through the shield when I am in my relaxed riding position. When I am in town I sit more upright and it was not a problem. Plus I think it looks better shorter.
So check into the issue before buying a taller shield cause I dont think it gonna help much.
I have only rode twice on short rides since I cut it and so far can't tell any difference, thats good. I have not rode with helmet on to see if it will make any difference about that. I will and report back when I get it home.
Bikes in shop 2nd week now for cams and other checks, weather has been in the 60's now for couple days but is turning back again so I ll have to wait till next week when I get it back and or it warms up a little bit again to find out any more...
Ride safe;
