I am looking to replace my rear fend with a clean one just like in the picture. I will be mounting it on a 2009 X-Bones with a 200 rear tire. I have been looking for a place to buy it but am lost. I know the picture is of Story808's bike but he is using the skinny version of fender like I want for my bike. Please help I need to start my paint soon and this is what is holding up my custom work.
To me it looks a lot like a Fatboy fender with all the holes for the light and plate mounting filled in.
Or a shorter version of one by Arlen Ness, can't remember the name for it right now, 'Dragger something' maybe?
Check out their web site, you might be able to find it.
Look for a stock Fatboy fender from an 07 and up. you can get them on ebay for usually 100 bucks.. Or the primed new oem from HD is 220 I think.. Then have a good body man weld and fill the tail light cut out
Ok, Been looking on ebay but was not sure what year to buy. I will go to harley tomorrow and see how much they want for one. Then call the custom bike shops to see if they can fill in all the holes other than the strut and turn signal ones.
Your going to need an 07 or up fender. Any decent body shop can fill the holes easy enough. In fact if you have a MIG or wire welder or know someone who has one and knows how to use one you can do it yourself.
Its not that hard a job to do. Just takes a little time and patience.
I'd hit up a body shop elvis. Cause they're gonna have body filler and welders and if they paint it they gonna make sure its right or it'll show through the paint. Or you could french in a brake light. RWD has a cat eye set up which is dual function brakelight/turnsignals.

Got a link to RWD so I can see what you are talking about? I was thinking of doing the nightster style brake and turn signal combo and a side mount plate.
