Default Softail Low Profile Dash Console

Anyone have any experience with this console? Part # 71208-07. Pictures of it on your bike? Description says that it doesn't fit with Brawler, Stripper, Sidekick, Sidekick Custom or Rally Runner seats. Wonder if it fits with aftermarket seats? I'm leaning toward a Danny Gray Buttcrack solo.

I have a different HD dash on mine. They said the speedo visor piece would not fit on it but it fits fine.
I am not a seat expert but you can see I have a lot of seat experience:

I don't know why they would say certain seats will not fit a console unless it is too bulky where it screws in under the seat.

Hey beaureed445, is this the console you are taking about? If so I'll tell you why it wont work with those seats. I'll go search a couple of links for you. Be right back, but let me know if this is the console..... JR

OKAY: You can browse this link to start. Go through it all, because I have alot of posts in there. It should explain your concern. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/softa...hink-pics.html

A little mention with some better pics here: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/softa...ml#post4672365

LePera was the ONLY company I emailed that was aware of the problem, and was willing to address my concern (very professionally mind you). They knew about the "raised" effect it creates, similar to that of the 2009 Screamin' Eagle Springer. It uses a similar dash panel. For the record, I provided many many pics in my emails: C & C responded, but pleasantly declined to attempt to make my seat, Corbin didn't respond to my email at all, nor did Mustang or Danny Gray, and Harley could not even answer the question that started this whole thread at all. If I were to do it all over, I'd try to see if the Screamin' Eagle Springer seat fits my bike, then maybe buy it. It looks comfy. Whatever seat you buy, MAKE SURE they make a provision for the tank/dash panel. For the record, the dash panel has been my favorite mod so far.

Anyhow, to make a long story short, the panel pushes the nose of the seat up terribly. I wouldn't even use the stock seat with the panel. It was such a tight squeeze that it felt like I was going to snap the plastic tongue off of the stock seat. Here's a few more pics of the leather on the stock seat becoming crinkled, and one picture of the stress being put on the stock rear mounting bolts. Very stressed. Brutally tight fit.

I had the same dash w/ both a Mustang vintage sport solo seat and the stock badlander seat on my 07 Train and it fit no problem.

Thanks for all of the replies. I've already agreed to buy a Buttcrack solo from a forum member, so I'll see what happens with the console (haven't bought one yet). My stock badlander has a "date" with Mean City Cycles to be reshaped and memory foamed. So, I may put the dash on, take pictures, and send them to Alan to work his magic.

Hey thanks... (I think?)... what is a "forian". I try and be thorough with my limited advice. I'm new to the club, and I try to only offer input when I know something, and I too in return have received some AWESOME advice from very knowledgeable members. I have no interest in increasing my "post" count just so I can be some super-hero member....... rather I TRULY enjoy my participation on here, as many others appear to as well..... Hope I was of some help! JR

Here you go... With a bare bones seat... that part that hooks under the frame under the front of the seat... You'll need to bend it a little.
