do you have on your Softail and do you like it? Too big? Too small? Looking to get one of these things but they've got so many to choose from, not sure which is the best value. Thank you.
I bought one in 99 and it has seen over 30,000 miles and numerous non bike trips. It still is like new except for the stains of use. It's similar to the Lonestar. Good size.
Hey Warrior,
I've got one from Hot Leathers. It's real nice and alot like one that Saddleman makes. I lucked up and bought it at a rally for $89.00, but I think it's like $119.00 on their website. I'm really happy with it.
Here's a couple of pics. There's a pic of it mounted on my bike in my album too.
I have the expandable one It is really nice you can zip it up to reduce the size by about half or you can also use only the smaller roll bag for smaller trips and the for the long road trips you can use both of them expanded for well over a weeks worth of clothes.
I use one like this from Tbag, On my dyna FXDC and its great i can pack it with everything i need for about 5 days including rain gear and put it on my sissy bar on the two up seat and i have a back rest for long trips. Love it.
The one I bought in '03 was called a "Roller T", they still make it only it's called something else. It has a collapseable handle and wheels on it. When you take it off the bike, you can wheel it around. That bag has seen close to 95K miles and it's still perfect. Not too big, not too small.
I bought a leather one several years ago. It works well if you fill it up. But since it's not rigid it is kind of a pain if you don't carry enough to fill it to capacity. I will be buying a new bag this spring and am only looking at rigid bags that hold their shape well even if empty. Just something to think about.
Good information...thanks to all who have given me some ideas. So far from what I've seen I like the T-Bags Convertable, Tahoe and the HD two bag pack. All are in the low $200 price range and I only wish I could actually see these things in person before I order. The only one I was able to actually look at was the Harley one, which was at the dealership. For some reason, I think the T-Bags brand ones I like are better quality from what i can tell from the catalog and website.
