Before installing I would safety wire the packing in a several spots. If you don't they are very difficult to remove because the tape will melt and the packing will expand.
Try an easy out for the bolt that is stripped. Probably will have to remove the pipes though.
I like nvsteves suggestion of also wrapping the q baffles with wire first to keep the glass from expanding. Tried to remove the q baffles to compare to SOP diff with old baffles. They did not want to come out.. will try again though.
I had to remove the exhuast. Took about 2 hours not too bad of a job. Just kind of sucked because I put on the pipes last August. It sounds pretty good. Definately quieter but has a deeper tone. From what i have said it takes the edge off and I can see what people mean by that. Don't get me wrong I really enjoyed the stock baffles but I think I will like these as well. I was not able to ride because we still have snow on the ground here in MN. I will have to see how I like them after I ride it for a while.
And I think you just answered my question. While I know I would like the deeper tone, I know I don't want to lose the "edge". I like them loud. I'll probably look for the first opportunity to compare the two but it sounds like I have what I want?
