I mounted a PCIII on my 08 Fatboy and it was a pain in the a$$! I read where the best place is down on the plastic mud guard, but that was like building a ship in a bottle. What I ended up doing (and there is a thread on it somewhere....maybe not this forum) was removing the fuse and relay holder and shoving them down behind the battery. This created a larger flat area to mount the PC, plugs and cables. It is still a VERY tight fit. I would take a pic, but I'm afraid to take off my seat. Remember the old spring snake in the can trick? I think all that cabling will explode if I remove the seat. It will fit though....if you're patient.
BTW, if you did figure a way to mount it on the mud guard, please let me know. I would move it there in a heart beat.
Next couple of days I plan on ordering a retro fit PC V for my 08 Deluxe. I have a FuelPak now so it should go in the place of it. Well see as I will hopefully get it next week and tell you how it went.
Absolutely NO WAY am I going to put the current version of the PC V on my bike. Jamie from Fuel Moto was kind enough to provide photos to me today. Not sure how to attach them to this thread, but it's a ridiculous set-up (not Fuel Moto's fault). BRUTAL BRUTAL... I wouldn't even consider it. It's a joke. I could not believe ANYONE would move the stock ECM up the fender, re-attach with velcro, discard the stock mounting plate, and a whole bunch of other alterations. If anyone wants to PM me their email address, or show me how to attach a thumbnail from my photo library, I'll gladly provide pictures........ I'm gonna get a TTS or SEST, or maybe a dealer-download....... JR
Been there, done that on my 08 Fat Boy. It WONT fit. I switched it for the Thundermax with Auto Tune and could not be happier. The problem lies in the area of the ECM and plugs.
Plus one for the T-Max. I had the fuel pak and really didn't like it under the seat. Similar of the PC V probably mounts that same way. The T-Max has been great. I've had it since September and was able to tweek it to my style of riding.

How come you have to "tweak" them if they are "automatic"? I don't want to spend 30 hours learning the software, nor do I want to even have to plug my computer into the bike..... nor do I want to pay a pair of my Girlfriends Manolos for a dyno.... Any thoughts?
Just install it with best available map for your set up, and leave the rest to the Thundermax. The "tweaking" is a nice option to have should you decide to make your own adjustments. Make sure the decel fuel cut feature is activated. I needed to activate it afterwards. The more you ride, the more it learns, and the better it gets.
Good Luck!

Regarding fit on 08/09 Fat Boy... they make (and fuel moto can/should provide you with) a deeper tray. You still may have clearance issues with the 200mm rear tire? (that I'm not sure about?)
2 things, though your info is probably correct, the PC V is only for 2009 models, though I think it can be retro mapped for 08. 08 model would need a PC III normally and that would then be mounted between behind the mud guard of the rear fender
They can also retro for many earlier models too. They did for my 06 Fatboy and it runs fine.
Hey PC, your pipes turned out great. Saw the suspension notice. You must love being back? Avatar is nice too. Thanks for the advice. I don't want to cut my fender for the deeper tray. Either a $200 dealer download, or the T-Max.... JR

Do I need to plug it into my computer to activate the "decel" feature? I have a Mac, and don't think it's compatible. If I don't activate it, would the people I buy it from do it? (Fuel Moto). I could just ask them, but since you're here... hehe.... JR
