I got the trucker lady side mount and even thought it said it fit years 89 to 2009 I still had to get a longer rear axel to make it fit ... watch what you buy ... I got lucky and the local chopper shop made me a new one for 25 bills but you might not get so lucky.... they do have some that mount to the swingarm and not the axel , but they are boockoo dollars ..

Any 1" axle mount should fit. I got mine from road 6 customs CHEAP, it's well made. I bought a set of led bolts to light the plate. The also make some with taillights. Definateley worth a look.

I had the Kuryakyn one on my bike for a while. It mounts on the swingarm and not the axle so is more universal. I have attached a pic.

If I get the axle mounted one do I have to get a longer axle? And if not how does it mount to it?

As a followup to my other post on the Kuryakyn. I had the visible chrome cover powdercoated gloss black and that improved the looks 100%. Only costed $10 for the powdercoat job. The Kuryakyn runs about $150, but I got mine on Ebay for $50. I ended up taking it off since the cops in the area I ride a lot (Deals Gap) loves to give $200 tickets for vertical side mounted tags. I understand that Daytona was bad this year also with fines up to $1000 for improperly mounted tags, even if you were from out-of-state. The hassle just wasn't worth it.

You do not need a longer axle, the bracket will replace the washer behind the axle nut.
