My enrichener **** won't stay out. I found this info in another part the forum.
Don't over tighten the 11/16 nut cause she's made of plastic. Don't ask how I know. Then there's another nut on the front that you adjust for the choke to stay out when you pull on the choke handle. Also make sure that one is not too tight as well. It should be just tight enough to hold the choke handle where you adjust it to. If all the above fails, you're best to take it apart from the carb and put a bit of lube on the cable and plunger. Good luck man.
It says "Then there's another nut on the front that you adjust..."
I don't see another nut. On my setup there's the plastic nut in the front and a metal nut behind the bracket with a star washer. Could I be missing the nut used to tighten the grip on the cable? Seems there is no way to add a nut (and no way to lose one either).
inner steel nut attaches cable to bracket (snug, not too tight). outer plastic nut applies friction to the cable. (finger tight). best to make small adjustments. the plastic one can easily be overtightened by hand and will break. hope this clears things up. steve
Thanks. It does clear things up. Unfortunately it seems the plastic must be worn out because the outer plastic nut doesn't apply any friction. I can see how the inner part is tapered so the outer nut could adjust pressure on the metal rod.
I guess something like this would wear out over time. I'll check with the dealer and see if the two nuts are part of the cable assembly and just replace the whole thing.
